Teriyaki Chicken Duo

One thing we like to make when we have local guests over is Teriyaki Chicken. Its always been liked. A friend gave me a really simple recipe a few years back for cooking mini-drumsticks using the crock pot. I've since found another recipe that is a little different and calls for chicken breasts. The flavor in the end is virtually the same though. So I'm going to share both recipes with you in case you don't have the Italian dressing one of them calls for. I do have an Italian dressing substitute on the blog, but I have not actually tried it in this recipe. Let us know if you do! Hopefully you'll have the ingredients for one of these! I personally think you can use whatever type of chicken you want in either of them!

Teriyaki Chicken I
1 bag chicken wings or mini-drumsticks (about 1.5 kg)
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup Italian Dressing

Mix everything together in your crock pot and cook on low for 8-10 hours. I usually put about 3/4 cup of each for one bag of chicken. Serve over rice.

Teriyaki Chicken II
2-3 lbs boneless, skinless chicken
1/2 cup soy sauce
1/2 cup sugar
2 Tbs oil
1 1/2 Tbs red wine vinegar (white works fine)
3/4 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp garlic powder

Mix sauce in crock pot. Add chicken. Cook on low for 8-10 hours. I usually double the sauce part of the recipe. Serve over rice.

Again, just use whatever type of chicken you want. It will be good with drumsticks or chicken breasts in either recipe! We served this to a local friend last night. She said it was very "delicate and delicious." Ha!

  1. Hey Sara Beth. Hope you all are doing well. I just want you to know this is my go to recipe for crockpot "Asian style" lol. Brady and I love this. I do sometimes add some veggies right on top of the chicken in the last 30 mins of cooking and then eat it with rice :-). Thanks for this recipe!!! Great meal and not a lot of work.
