If you're making chicken nuggets, you need honey mustard, right? I'll admit--I still have not found just the right recipe for this. I've tried recipe after recipe and they are all just a little off from what I really want. But, this recipe is about the best one of the 10 or so I've tried. I got it from a friend, Patti E., around the time Isaac was born and we ate with her family in Chiang Mai. I will share a few more note worthy ones with you soon.
Honey Mustard Sauce or Dressing
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup dijon mustard
1/4 cup honey
2 Tbs vegetable oil
3/4 tsp cider vinegar (I usually use white or white wine vinegar)
1/8 tsp onion salt (or a little salt and a little onion powder if you don't have it)
1/8 tsp ground red pepper
Mix well with whisk or blender. Chill. Makes 1 1/4 cup.
I will say that I often add a little extra dijon and honey to get the taste better. But I use a local mayo (red label Kewpie) that has a bit of its own flavor so I think I'm usually trying to mask it!
