When I started trying to make pizzas that were a little more brick-oven style (not pressed into a pizza pan), I just used an upside-down cookie sheet to try to move my pizzas in and out of the oven. It got a little messy from time to time. I bought a pizza peel when I was in the States one trip. It was only like $10 or something at a kitchen store. I find that it works great for moving my pizzas in and out of the oven. When it broke I was quick to try and find a locally available option to replace it. I found one on taobao thankfully! And it was even cheaper! (FYI, this seller has really reasonably priced whole wheat flour!) I also found some pizza stones available from that same seller, but I actually just use a tile left from the renovation of our kitchen. I love that when the stone is good and hot it makes a nice crust to the pizza! Just a little crunch on the bottom rather than soggy! I also like cooking pitas on a hot stone. I think they puff better! So, I mentioned that these are available on Taobao for those of you in China, but they are at kitchen stores like Bed, Bath, and Beyond in the US and of course are on Amazon. Find a local market/renovation area of town to look for a natural ceramic tile you could use as a stone!
