I got introduced to one of these chopper things when Brian and I got married. In fact, we still use the same Zyliss brand one that he's had since college days. I really doubt there are very many of you out there that don't have one of these in your kitchen, but I'm telling you about it just in case! In the States, Zyliss and Oxo both carry them, among several other brands (Zyliss Food Chopper
)
. They range in price from about $8-15. If you live near an Ikea, they also have them (Y50 in China), though I have not tested the quality. If you have a food processor, you might find this gadget useless. I have a mini-food processor attachment for my blender base, but I usually just grab this because its just as fast! I use it on all kinds of vegetables and things, especially for something like Dirty Rice where you need a lot and likely want them finely chopped! I almost always chop onions with it. I also use it for quickly dicing apples for things like the Apple Streusel Muffins or Apple Fritter Poppers! Since the apples are going in something, it doesn't really matter how pretty it is! If you don't have a chopper, you need one!
