Make Your Own: Cajun Seasoning

My husband is Louisiana born and bred. We keep large Costco-sized containers of Tony Chachere's Cajun seasoning around this house. Its the only one worth using if you ask some people. After making my own version for the good of the blog, I actually might be quick to agree that Tony's is a bit better than what I made myself. But if you don't have Cajun seasoning on hand, this is a decent substitute. You'll need it if you want to make the recipe I'm going to share with you later this week!  So mix yourself up a little bit and wait in anticipation.....

Cajun Seasoning
1 1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder
3/4 tsp paprika
3/4 tsp cayenne
3/4 tsp oregano
3/4 tsp thyme
1/2 tsp chili powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/2 tsp black pepper

Mix all spices together and use in anything calling for cajun seasoning.
