Just sharing a quick recipe passed on to me by my friend Carla S. This isn't a super rich, fudge-like chocolate sauce, but it is certainly one that is quick and easy. You probably even have the ingredients on hand! I made this awhile back to serve with pineapple chunks and strawberries as a dessert with local friends. That said, it is a great fruit dip. Carla said its also good drizzled on ice cream. One fun thing about this is that the kids can make it since its all done in the microwave! If you don't have a microwave, you could do this easily on the stovetop as well.
Simple Chocolate Sauce
1 can sweetened condensed milk (~14 oz, I think)
2/3 cup chocolate chips or chopped up chocolate bar
1 Tbs butter
dash of salt
Place ingredients in a microwave safe bowl. Microwave on high for 30 seconds. Stir well and get as much of the chocolate to melt as you can just by stirring it. Microwave for another 30 seconds and stir until well blended. If chocolate isn't quite melted after this, you can microwave it for 15 seconds or so at a time and continue to stir after each.
