We've been on the road since last Friday. I feel behind in home school. My calendar looks full with odds and ends for the next month and we'll have many 3 day school weeks as it is. I can't remember the last time I cooked a full, balanced meal for my family. I have a shopping list a mile long as we prepare to head back to China in a few more weeks. I haven't blogged in more than a week. I don't feel like I have time for a holiday this week. Kind of funny how the consumerism of the US really just adds pressure to my life. I see Valentine stuff everywhere and feel like I need to celebrate it. But you know, when I'm not in the US I don't really feel that way. I like it when I can just celebrate it on my own terms--maybe even a few days late (gasp!). Anyway. That's just where I am this week. But I'd made a commitment to make a Valentine treat this week for something. I decided to go with red and pink
Kool-Aid candied popcorn from a recipe I blogged awhile back. Its relatively quick and easy to make. It looked super cute with a red bow tied on the bag. So maybe a batch of popcorn is all your week can handle. Hear this Mama say, its okay. I'm the one who will be sending my daughter to preschool with no personal Valentine's tomorrow. I just can't do it. Its okay. Its really okay. She's only 3 and doesn't care. And the other moms hopefully have these kind of weeks too and will hopefully understand!
