I know it doesn't make sense in our expat minds, but do you shop for import bulk products on Taobao? Specifically dried fruit and nuts? I have found that you can save some serious money doing this. Things like Ocean Spray Craisins, Sunmaid raisins, and Kirkland nuts and fruits like blueberries and cherries. This particular store has a great deal on Kirkland dried blueberries and Sunmaid raisins this week.
This seller has cheap Craisins and blueberries right now. And I'm pretty sure if you did the math on the almonds, cashews and pecans that you would find they are cheaper than the locally available options in smaller packs. This shop also had some really cheap Sunmaid raisin deals--just make sure to look at expiration dates--his cheap ones all expire in about a month.
Sales and deals change frequently on Taobao and Amazon.cn but know that these products are there and are a great deal.
AND it wouldn't be a bad idea to have a stash of nuts and dried fruits on hand--not only are they healthy snack choices, but there are some upcoming guests posts utilizing them!! Yeah!!
