Non-Stick Stuff

I'm sorry that I'm not posting much lately. My internet speed continues to be awful. Here is just a really quick little think from my friend Tracey. She said its great to use when you need to grease and flour a pan for a recipe. She's used it successfully for loaf pans, cake pans, muffin tins, etc..

Non-Stick Stuff

Equal parts:
Flour
Oil
Shortening

Wisk until blended and forms one mixture.  Use this anytime you need to remove cakes from the pan. Store in a covered container in the fridge.

Notes: Just use your hands or a paper towel to spread on pans. Tracey used Crisco from Taobao but I think you could easily use a locally available shortening (CD people can check Aishang guy) or even your own homemade lard

  1. This is off topic, but I can't figure out how to search on your site. I remember sometime in the past, you mentioned that some jars, fit some canning lids, but I can't recall the details...might have been kewpie mayo? Could you refresh my memory?

  2. Yes, who knows where I put that. But the Kewpie mayo jars can use Mason or Ball canning lids if you want to repurpose jars. You'll need the regular size (400g maybe?) or the larger size sometimes sold at Metro. Lately all I've seen is the squeeze bottles and the small 200g jars at Trustmart.
